sameer is seeing a new part of the world [12 May 2008|11:59pm] britanikareeves bundy and i flew into LA today. somehow i managed to move out in one day (yay new house!), then on sunday went to the baldwin mother's day brunch, then stayed with nate's sister mary in brooklyn. today on our plane ride we saw: the desert, the snow-capped rockies, some canyons. i've never seen the west so i was beside myself with excitement. we met with some UCLA psych students and the meeting went extraordinarily well, and somehow managed to make me really excited and also really afraid of applying to grad school. now we're staying at his mom's best friend's house and we just ate delicious mexican food - i'm in a food coma. and i need to buy a bed and dresser by the time i'm back at school again. umm not so good tomorrow: neptune's in malibu (at matt lee's recommendation), driving up the pacific coast highway and hopefully SEEING WHALES at nepenthe in big sur. then driving to stanford and seeing kelly peterson for the first time in 2 years. eeeeeee!!! bad news: my grades, and also, my digital camera is out of batteries and i forgot to bring the charger. oh well? 2 Fell Away From Me.| Goodbye Lovely Train Tracks.

April 2008 [11 May 2008|10:18am] xfaggot_corex [ music | desaparecidos ] Besides seeing Municipal Waste and Tragedy April was filled with mostly school activities. Student Works Gallery openings, Art Student League events, many guest speakers, playing tuba/piano and tutoring filled up 90% of my time. I was on a committee that decided to put a statue of Walt Whitman on campus. We are putting it in front of the student center where that tall clock thing is now. I did go to Philly and get drunk at a karaoke bar with some class mates and teachers. That was a great way to end one of my best college semesters. Goodbye Lovely Train Tracks.

Transfer Question [10 May 2008|07:29pm] templeu [altaria] [ mood | nervous ]  Hello Temple U. students! I'm applying to be a transfer student in Environmental Studies for this Fall and I have a question. How stringent is Temple on requirements for transfer admissions? I went to University of the Sciences for Environmental Science for 2 years and didn't do so hot. Chemistry destroyed my GPA (2.233) and the school has very little to no resources for academic support. The website said they usually want to see a 2.3 from transfer students, so does this automatically exclude me from consideration? My high school GPA was a 3.5, and they're going to look at that too, but I'm not sure if my hellacious time at USP will completely destroy my chances of getting admitted.  Goodbye Lovely Train Tracks.
